Turbocharging Xcode
As an iPhone developer, you likely spend most of your time in Xcode and other tools without realizing the myriad of time-saving features and options that are hidden away from plain sight. In this session, you'll discover how to optimize your development environment and your workflow so you can deliver high quality code even under tight deadlines.
I second the coverage of app signing - if best practices says apps should be signed.
I pulled a few good things out of the presentation, like SymbolicateCrash, but overall it was very unorganized...
Somewhat unorganized (a bit understandable, given his laptop problem) and VERY hard to hear, even in the second row. Remember to speak into the mic!
I had to miss this one due to my flight reservations.
Sean your point on app signing and how to set things up I was telling Erica that exact thing on Sunday morning with Marcus.
Maybe Erica can blog on this topic? I for one am on Snow Leopard and things have changed a tad in the portal and how it works.
Marcus Zarra gave me great advice to setup a generic profile.
Erica has great advice in her iPhone cookbook as well. (page 29)
The problem is Snow Leopard and the new Xcode as well as Apple's new portal all work a tad different.
What would be great is if someone could detail all the ways to FIX problems deploying an app to the iphone.
I pulled down my public key and not private key to my MBP when I left town so I couldn't deploy any apps to my iPhone. 'L' :-(
Sorry for the long post. FYI If you export your key export it as a .p12 file. Another thing you can do is just synch your key chain if you have Mobile Me. More tips from Marcus.
I only caught the first part of the presentation but the Xcode tips were what I wanted from the session. I'll be sure to check out the published presentation document.
This was great. In addition to the useful tips, I am appreciative of the other tools (such as documentation generators and other goodies) that were shared. Nice job!

One of the things that I find cumbersome with testing and releasing iPhone applications is the whole process of signing apps and configuring build settings correctly. It seems to me that there are many potential pitfalls and no single place where everything is documented in a neat, coherent way. I do not know if this is out of scope of this session, but I think a discussion around this topic would be useful.
